Hoodener's Horse sign 2008

Above sign May 2008, by Eric Hartland.

Probably the first "Hooden Horse" in the chain, the others being the "Another Hooden Horse" at Rolvenden Layne, the "Hooden on the Water," at Ashford and also the "Grand Old Hooden Horse" at Crabbrook.

By 2008 the pub appears to have changed name slightly, now called the "Hoodener's Horse."

This again changed to the "Little Black Dog" in June 2017.

I am informed by Judy Vinson that the pub also changed name to "Bengers" for a short time, being named after the Surname of the licensee who was there at the time, but as yet I have no dates or indeed photographs. he later went on to run a pub in East or West Farleigh. The pub was closed, the beer garden sold for development, the pub itself converted into three flats and when they didn't sell was mercifully reopened as the "Ewe and Lamb."

As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here.

Thanks for your co-operation.
