Old Comrades Club 1931

Presentation of Miniature R.M. Colours, By Brigadier L. C. Lampen, A.D.C., R.M., on behalf of the Officers, R.M. Depot to the R.M.O.C.A., Deal, 29th September, 1931.

Above pictures by kind permission of the "Royal Marines Club."

Opened in 1921 after the "King's Head," and later the "Queen's Head," closed as a public house on 31 December 1914. I am not sure what the building was used for between those dates, excedpt to report the out-buildings being destroyed by fire in May 1917.

Four years later in 1921, obviously after some renovation the premises reopen, as the "Old Comrades Club," a fore-running of its name today, that being the "Royal Marines Association Club," which attained that name some time before or during 1938.
