SALE OF PROPERTY

On Monday last, Mr. Hayward, of Dover, submitted for sale, at the "Black Horse Hotel," Lower Street, the following property in six lots.

Lot 1: A capital brewery, situate at the North-end of Deal, for many years carried on by the late Mr. Thomas Hight, comprising brewery and cooling floors, fermenting and vat rooms, stores and counting-house, excellent stabling and waggon-lodges, together with the right to use the quay in front of the premises; purchased by Mr. Hatton for £200.

Lot 2: A convenient dwelling-house, situate near the brewery and known as "Sea Beach Cottage." It contains two sitting-rooms, kitchen, and three bedrooms, and is at present in the occupation of Mr. T. T. Hight; knocked down to the same gentleman for £54.

Lot 3: A capital public-house situate at Beach Street, known as the "North Star," containing tap-room, kitchen, club-room, two bedrooms, and cellar, with yard behind; purchased by Mr. Brown, for £175.

Lot 4: The water-works situate in West Street, containing an excellent well of water, with pipes laid on to the tank at the top of the brewery, was also bought by Mr. Brown, for £133.

Lot 5: A store adjoining the brewery, with quay in front; not sold.

Lot 6: a freehold house, No. 70, Lower Street; bought by Mr. R. Wildes, of £96.

Lots 1, 2, 3 and 5 are held under leases which expire in a very few years. There was a tolerably good attendance, but competition was not very brisk.
