(Ewell Minnis)

Above photo by Paul Skelton 8th Sept 2007 shows what is believed to be the site (centre of picture) of the Castle Inn at Ewell Minnis

I am still not convinced that the building on this site was called just the "Castle," although one previous to that could have been I suppose.

I was informed the original pub in Ewell Minnis called the Castle Inn was just round the corner from where the now closed Newcastle Inn stands.

The "Castle" burnt down around the turn of the 20th century, (recent evidence has proven this to be just before 1913 and prior to that date the original pub was also known as the "New Castle" pre 1882,) but a new pub was built adjacent to the remains of the old one in not 1902 as first suggested but in 1913 and named the "New Castle Inn".

I am still hoping for more information on this one.
