Church Street Cliffe
The "Victory" was a modest-sized wooden structure that can be traced back to 1856. However, in the 1870s, the pub was rebuilt in brick and renamed the "Victoria." The last licensee of the "Victory" was Martha Parker, who has been born in Gillingham in 1814 and whom the 1861 Census describes as a Beer House keeper. She is listed as a widow, with two children Alice (aged 17) and Thomas (15) who both worked in the pub.
