Latest 1793+

Dartford

I have reference to a "George" from 1707, but believe that became the "Cock and Lion" about the same time. I also have reference to a "George".

Also a "Bull and George" addressed on the High Street, which I believe is one and the same as this.

From the Maidstone Journal, 16 April 1793.

George and Bull Inn, Dartford.

Samuel Notley, (many years waiter of the "Granby Inn," Dartford,) begs leave respectively to inform the Nobility, Gentry, and public in general, that he has in junction with Mr. T. Pankhurst, of the same place, taken the above Inn off Messers. Willett and Woodford.

Notley and Parkhurst assure those who will be pleased to honour them with their commands, that they will be by the most assiduous and unremitting attention, constantly endeavour to deserve their patronage.
