Dartford
Reference has been found to the "Granby and Royal Bowman Inn" but
unfortunately no location other than Dartford is yet known.
However, I do know of a "Marquis
of Granby" and also an "Old
Granby" which may or may not be the same.

J. Syllibourne, at the "Granby, and Royal Bowman Inn," Dartford.
Having succeeded Mr. Richard Carrington, humbly solicits a continuance
of the favours of the public to the above inn; and flatters himself in
the steady perseverance to give general satisfaction, will ensure to the
house that support it has ever experienced.
N. B. J. Syllibourne was several years Waiter at the "George Inn,"
Sittingbourne.
Neat Post Chaises and able Horses to any part of the
Kingdom.

George and Bull Inn, Dartford.
Samuel Notley, (many years waiter of the "Granby Inn," Dartford,) begs leave
respectively to inform the Nobility, Gentry, and public in general, that he has
in junction with Mr. T. Pankhurst, of the same place, taken the above Inn off
Messers. Willett and Woodford.
Notley and Parkhurst assure those who will be pleased to honour them with their
commands, that they will be by the most assiduous and unremitting attention,
constantly endeavour to deserve their patronage.

From the Maidstone Journal, 25 December 1798.
This is the give notice to the persons who left at my house (the "Granby Inn,")
in Dartford, on Friday the 19th day of October last, a brown Mare and Cart; if
the said Mare and Cart is not fetched away or owned, within seven days from the
date hereof, they will be sold to defray the expenses of the same.
Witness my hand, this 22nd day of Dec. 1798.

To Innkeepers and Others, who are desirous of Engaging in the Public Line.
Valuable and Unexpired Leas, Dartford, Kent. By Richard Kirk.
On Wednesday, December 22, 1802, on the premises, precisely at 2 o'clock.
The Lease of this commodious and extensive premises, well-known by the
"Granby Inn," Dartford; (taken in Execution by the Sheriff of Kent,) 11 years of
which will be unexpired at Christmas Day next; the Tap, at rents together
amounting to One Hundred and Three Pounds per annum.
The premises are complete, with the usual conveniences in the Tavern
Business, and its presumed, stands equal in the Posting Line with Houses of this
description, between London and Dover, and from local situation its truly
desirable; the Inn comprises 16 double and single sleeping rooms, with
commodious paved hall, 3 dining rooms, 3 good parlours, bar and bar-rooms, large
assembly room, larder, large kitchen, good cellaring, and other convenient
offices; the yard consists of suitable accommodation for post boys', ostlers,
and soldiers apartments, with convienient stabling for 70 horses, suitable
coach-house, large granaries and garden adjoining, well planted with fruit
trees.
Rent £103 0s.0d.
Tap, let off £6 0s. 0d.
Net rent £40 per annum.
The purchaser to take the Live and Dead Stock, Household Furniture, Fixtures,
Stock in Trade, and other effects, at evaluation.
May be viewed, Monday and Tuesday previous to the sale, where particulars may
be had, and of the Auctioneer, High Street, Dartford.

POSTING REDUCED.
At the "Granby Inn," Dartford, Kent.
E. POTTER, late Steward to Admiral Rowley, humbly returns thanks to
the Nobility, Gentry, and others, who travel the Kent Road, for
their favours conferred since the taking of the above Inn, and begs
leave to acquaint them that he has reduced the price of posting to
Fifteen Pence per Mile, and a continuance of their patronage and
support will ever be his study to merit.
