The Medway Archives and Local Studies Centre has referenced a set of documents, that I haven't seen yet, and is part of the Watts Charity MSS, 1579-1972.

Reference is made as follows:-

1657-1744

T1 Premises in Chatham and Rochester [including several messuages in Holborn Lane; 1 messuage on West side of Globe Lane, and 1 messuage where it intersects High Street; several messuages on North of High Street, including a slaughterhouse, all in Chatham; piece of the Common, and part of the Town Ditch; the "Black Boy & Trumpet," Haven Key; and land next to the "King's Head," all in St. Nicholas, Rochester] (23 docs,)

[Original bundle no, 1]

At present, all I can say is this was operating somewhere between the years 1657 and 1744.
