I have only found the one reference to this establishment at present and that was in the Licensing Records of 1872 where it was stated the premises held a Beer License and was owned by (Messrs Truman Hanbury & Co) Robert Hanbury Charles Addington Hanbury Sir Thomas Fowell Buxton Bart: Edward North Buxton Arthur Pryor and Henry Villebois, Brick Lane Spitalfields London.

Further research tells me that it stood on the corner of Whitakker Street.

Although the pub closed in 1962 the licence remained till 1972, the brewery owners probably hoping another brewery would take it on, but unfortunately this never happened.

W G Styles, licensee of the "Stag & Hounds," Chatham, died July 7th, 1961. Previously the licensee of the "Ordnance Arms," Chatham until in 1960 moving to the "Stag & Hounds."
