Former Duchess of Edinburgh

Above photo circa 2012.

I have also seen this addressed as in East Wickham.

Originally known as the "Fighting Cocks" but changed name in 1874 to honour the marriage of Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia to Grand Duchess Maria Alexandrovna of Russia,

There was a  rebuilding of the pub for the Dartford Brewery Co. Ltd. Dating from 1936-37 and this building still exists.

The pub closed some time in 2011 and is now (2016) operating as another Tesco Express shops.

It is said that Boxing legend Henry Cooper once used to train in a gym situated above the pub.
