This pub is one in the list of my "Project 2014."

As such I have found a picture of the pub, but to date have no other information. Local knowledge, further pictures, and licensee information would be appreciated.

I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from.

All emails are answered.

Sheerness Guardian, 11 February, 1860.

SITTINGBOURNE PETTY SESSIONS.

Before Sir J. Tylden, J. D. Dyke, and W. Bland, Esqrs. Monday, February 6th.

David Fenner, landlord of the "Alma," applied for a warrant to arrest a "nymph of the pave" named Gladstone, charging her with stealing sundry articles of dress from his residence on or about the 22nd December, 1859. Application had been previously made to the police of the town for her arrest for robbery, who had refused to interfere in the matter, and the magistrates from certain disclosures, and owing to the nature of the case, refused the warrant.

Sheerness Guardian, 25 February, 1860.

POLICE CASES.

When Gladstone, was charged by Sergeant Ovenden, with being a disorderly prostitute and breaking a window at the "Fountain Hotel," Sheerness, between the hours of 11 and 12 o'clock on the night of the 14th instant. The charge being fully proved, the magistrate sentenced her to be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for 21 days with an intimation that she would be dealt with still more severely if again brought before him.
