The "Prince Albert" ceased trading as a public house in 1990 and is now (2009) operating as "Tickham Interiors" selling blinds, curtains, interiors, accessories and soft furnishings.

The premises started trading as as a public house as early as 1702 then named the "Hand" but by 1844 was renamed the "Good Intent." By 1855 it had again been renamed to the "Rose" but finally ended up as the "Prince Albert" after 1866, although there is reference to it still being called the "Rose" incorrectly in the 1871 census.

The building was rebuilt in the late 1800s to what we can see today.

From the Faversham Times, Saturday 7 January 1939.

LICENSING.

The license of the "Prince Albert," Preston Street, was transferred from Horace Edwards to Robert John Jenner.

I have just added the pubs of Faversham after a visit to the hop festival in 2012.

I will be adding further information as time allows, but with my site getting ever larger, time spent on each pub is being watered down unfortunately. Your information, photos, old or new and licensee names and dates is much appreciated.
