I have only seen reference to this twice to date, the first time in a Wingham division Ale License list of 1740 when the license was renewed at a cost of 8 shillings, and the second time in 1826 when the pub was sold, along with 11 other pubs in the neighbouring villages for the sum of £166. It is unknown who sold the premises and to whom. It is possible that this is indeed the same pub as the "Rose and Crown" listed under Woolage, as Woolage Green is in the parish of Womanswould.
