Horsebridge Road

Whitstable

I believe this was operational in the 1830s and was taken over by Charles Pearson junior after he moved from his old premises on Tower Parade, called the "Pearson's Arms." He was hoping that the newly built railway would frequent that area, but when Whitstable Harbour was constructed in the area and the railway wasn't near his original pub didn't make a profit so he moved here and changed the name to the "Pearson's Arms," after his original pub.

The book Whitstable and Herne Bay Pubs by Johnny Horner refers to this pub as the "Whitstable Arms."

From the Kent Herald, 9 October 1828.

The Magistrates of the Eastern Division of this County, on Saturday last, granted a license to Mr. Pearson, of Whitstable, to open an Inn, near the harbour of that place, which is intended to communicate with the railway.
