Council House Street

Dover

Reference has been found to a "New London" in Council House Street in the Hotel section of Pigot's directory of 1824. The proprietor being William Chapman. The same has also been found in Batchellor's Guide 1828.

Research has found premises called the "Hotel de Londres" from a list of public houses held at the Dover museum dated 1851.

However, being situated in Council House Street, I believe this may have been an alternative name for the "City of London Hotel," and that is also referenced in a 1877 document.
