Gravesend?

Unknown pub 100

Another one found by Rory Kehoe.

It's a photo postcard of a company of troops on the march, with a Dartford Brewery Company pub in the background. Almost certainly summer 1915, as I doubt regular soldiers in 1914 would have looked as scruffy! Whether these are Kitchener's volunteers on a training march, or on their way to the station/embarkation, is difficult to say. Sadly, a lot of these chaps would never have seen Blighty again.

Clues... The card has Gravesend on the back but Dartford Brewery Company didn't have any pub in that town.

Near Gravesend? Could well be. It's not a Dartford town pub and I doubt it's one of the c.20 Dartford Brewery Companies pubs in South East London. Well, that leaves c.40 pubs!

Over to your knowledgeable readers then...
