Albion Place

There is some confusion over the name and address of this one. Albion Place evidently was named after a pub with the same name and shows existence between 1846 and 1927. It is said that after that date the same pub changed names to the "Carpenter's Arms". However, just round the corner in Queen Street, it is said that a "Carpenter's Arms" changed name to become the "Cause is Altered," earliest listing with that name, 1832.

Whether this is the old "Albion" under a different name from 1927 or not, the whole area was cleared in 1937.
