TEEN ARRESTED OVER TILL THEFT

A DOVER teenager ended up in the cells after he stole an empty cash register from the "Canterbury Tales" pub.

The 19-year-old was spotted on CCTV leaving the pub in The Friars, Canterbury, with a till under his arm at 12.30am on Wednesday, December 30.

Police caught up with him on a footpath by the River Stour where he threw the till into the water and tried to run off.

He was arrested on suspicion of theft. The till was fished out of the river by police officers.
