Originally opened as "Cleary's" in the mid 1990s and when that closed in August of 2000, it reappeared as "Billabong" with an Australian theme. However, the small yellow ironing-boards that doubled for surfboard tables probably meant its days were numbered and it closed half way through 2003.

Today, after a loft conversion, the premises is running under the name of "Loft" and is a gastrobar.
