Information acquired from the Lyminge newsletter, May 2009. Mike Athow says the following:- The "Prince of Wales" was known, latterly, as the "Battle of Britain."

Unfortunately, to date that is the only information I have about the pub.

From an email received 5 May 2021.

Hi,

In 1984 the landlord of the then 'Prince of Wales and Lady Diana' was Wilf Denne.

The next landlord was 'John' who changed the name to the 'Battle of Britain' to house his collection of Spitfire memorabilia as theme. When he tired of running a pub, he renamed the building 'Merlin House' after the Spitfire engine. A subsequent owner imaginatively changed the name again to 'Rhodes House', to contrast with existing Rhodes Cottage, Rhodes Farm and Little Rhode Farm in Green Lane.

Patrick.
