Smashing.

Henry Spruce, a youth having the appearance of a fisherman, was brought up on remand and placed in the dock, charged with passing a counterfeit shilling at the "Varnishmakers Arms," Trundle Lane, Deptford.

The particulars of this case have already appeared, and Mr. Maude committed the accused to take his trial at the next Old Bailey sessions, on a charge of uttering; but consented to take bail in two sureties of £40 each.
