Dunkirk
This one has been sent to me from Rory Kehoe. I have found no reference to this one as yet, but that doesn't mean to say it never existed. Rory goes on to say the following:- New Pub! Well, an old one which I
certainly never visited, not indeed have I ever heard of it! The "Sir
William Courtenay," Dunkirk. Apparently, a free house, with AA/RAC listed
accommodation and offering lunches and dinners. I wonder if this place
(probably a hotel with a bar) was a casualty of the Boughton bypass opening
in 1976? I can't even think which building it might have been! My source is
a 1965 Canterbury City FC programme. As soon as I get this (just bought it
online) I'll scan the page/advert and send it over to you. LICENSEE LIST
