89 Dover Street Folkestone
A John Pearson informs me that 89 Dover Street appears to have been an hotel in 1921, according to the census records. I will assume that it didn't have a drinks licence and to gain entry you would have had either to be a resident or guest. John goes on to say that his Grand-father was a porter at the establishment and his employers name was a Miss Lacy. The census seems to have included errors in the information as it infers that his Grand-fathers wife was born there in 1921 making her younger than her three children including John's mother.
