Only one instance of this found at present, and may have changed name to the "Rose and Crown" by 1743, if indeed the same.

 

From the East Kent Order Book, Midsummer (Jun 1657)

On the petition of Benjamin Dove of Harbledown and a certificate made on his behalf it is ordered that he be licensed to keep a victualling house at the sign of the "Rose" in Harbledown and he is to go to a justice of the peace with two good sureties and enter into a recognizance to observe such articles as ought to be observed by victuallers.
