Situated on the Military Road, but number as yet unknown.

I am informed that the pub closed about 1972 and was demolished shortly afterwards to make way for the Chatham town centre road scheme which created the ring road and Pentagon centre.

Rochester and Chatham.

While assisting in the ornamentation of the Queen's Hall of the constitutional club, Military Road, Chatham, for a soiree on New Year's night, Mr. William small, of Windmill Road, new Brompton, had a terrible fall 25 feet. From a ladder onto the floor of the hall. He was picked up by Mr. W. McIntosh in an insensible condition, having fallen on his head, and conveyed to Saint Bartholomew's hospital,. The poor fellow never recovered consciousness, and expired the following morning. Deceased had arranged to attend the dance with his wife for whom much sympathy is felt in her sad bereavement.
