Having been asked to vacate the "Timber Batts" at Bodsham, licensee Ross and Sarah Berry moved to the "Compasses Inn" in Crundale and changed the name to the "Timber Batts @ The Compasses." The building is a Grade II listed public house with 17th and 18th century elements and is noted to have a history going back to the 15th century, with some even speculating about a crypt from 1331.
