With quite a few "White Horses" in Sheerness and no definitive address, some of these may be one and the same.

I have reference to a "Lower White Horse" in the High Street,  an "Old White Horse" in the High Street of Blue Town,  an "Upper White Horse" at Blue Town, and also a "White Horse" High Street, Blue Town, and another "White Horse" addressed as Mile Town.

Kentish Gazette, 3 February, 1779.

Notice.

All persons, having any demands on the late John Smith, at the sign of the "White Horse," Mile Houses, Sheerness, are desired to send an account of the same to Stephen Rouse, sen. at Minster, on or before the 20th day of this instant February.

And all persons, any ways indebted to the said John Smith, are desired to pay the same on or before the above 20th day, or they will be fined for the sum without further notice.

From the Kent Herald, 28 February 1828.

Last week an inquest was held at the "White Horse Inn," Sheerness, before R. Hinde, esq., on the body of a child about three years old, belonging to Mr. James Pollard, Blue Town, Sheerness, which died in consequence of being severely burnt about five weeks since.

Accidental Death.
