Only found one instance of this in 1780 when it was for sale.

 

Kentish Gazette, 20 September, 1780.

To be sold by auction, on Tuesday, the 26th day of this instant September, about 5 o'clock in the Afternoon, at Mr. Bensons Hotel at Margate. ("Royal Hotel.")

All that good new and well built freehold house, known by the name of the "North Foreland Prospect," equally fit for Tavern or a genteel Family, with convenient Stabling and other Officers, Garden and 4 Acres of Land, and adjoining and enclosed, near Kingsgate, and about 3 Miles from Margate and Ramsgate, a Situation much admired for various and extensive Prospects both by Sea and Land.

Printed Particulars and Conditions of the Sale may be had on Saturday next, at the Place of Sale, the two Circulating Libraries in Margate, the "King's Head" at Ramsgate, and at the Premises, where a Person attends to show the same.
