PUB LIST PUBLIC HOUSES Paul Skelton

Earliest 1836-

Angel Inn

Latest 1836

Snargate Street

Dover

Only seen this mentioned the once so far, but it is possible it could be the same as the "Angel Inn" mentioned in 1545.

It is unlikely that it is being mixed up for the "Angel Inn" in Townwall Street as by 1826 that had become the "Druid's Head."

Kentish Gazette, 9 August, 1836.

DOVOR. TO PUBLICANS AND OTHERS.

TO BE LET, with immediate possession, the "ANGEL INN," Snargate-street, with premises, commanding a first-rate situation for a gin and beer trade. Coming in about £200, including stock, fixtures and furniture. Rent, £25; adjoining premises, situated on the Commercial Quay, £5.

For further particulars, apply, post paid, to A. T. Angel Inn.
