After Frank Thorley allegedly purchased the "Ferryman" from owners Chef and Brewer in 1989, it was said that he was going to renovate the building and change the name to "Rumpoles" after a rather rotund local solicitor and good friend of his called, Mr. Jerome Dillon!" I don't believe the name change ever occurred.
