I have reference to the sale of a single plot of land in 1780 to a licensed victualler, described as "at the sign of the Robin Hood and Little John." At present I don't know how long the premises held a license. Apparently there are two buildings which were separated by another sale in 1929.

Today (2019), one house is still referred to as "Robin Hood" and on the other side of the lane is another referred to as "Little John."

The Robin Hood gained a Grade 2 listing on the 17 October 1988.

It is thought that the cottage known as the Little John has also been used as a chickenshed.
