I am not sure whether this held a drinks license or indeed exactly where it was situated as yet. Further research suggests that it did indeed have a drinks licence and was addressed in Tower Parade.

THE TOWER HOTEL.

The County magistrates at Canterbury on Saturday granted the temporary transfer of licence of the "Tower Hotel," Hearn Bay, from Harry Farley to Mrs. Emily Collard.

Chris Gurnsey of New Zealand who is looking into his history, tells me that the census of 1921 states that Charles Edwin Gurnsey (1845-1931) was the proprietor of "Tower Hotel," Herne Bay. Also, two of his daughters, Beatrice Louise Gurnsey (1878-1962) and Ethel Gwendoline Gurnsey (1885-1964) were working as assistants in the hotel along with their brother Charles Harold Gurnsey (1880-1942) as hotel manager. So looks like it was indeed very much a family run concern.

The address given was 10 Tower Parade but I don't think that exists any longer, although there is one in Whitstable, 5 miles away.
