Above photo 1906, showing the "High Cliff Hotel," "Kimbers," and the "Queen's Hotel."

Above postcard, 11 January 1934, kindly sent by Rory Kehoe. Showing the Annual Dinner for the East Kent Road Car Company.

Identified in Barry J White's list of Thanet's public houses and hotels 19th and early 20th century and described as a Private Hotel.

Barry goes on to suggest that this was originally the "Rosslyn Hotel."

In 1901 it appears to have expanded to 6, 7 & 8 Queens Gardens, and in 1903 also included 1 & 2 as well. No mention of 3, 4 & 5 though.

Further information suggests that this was part of the Butlin's complex.

Hello,

I found this photo of my old aunt, now deceased. She was Italian and she was a great traveller as she worked in travel industry.

The photo dates back to Easter 1957, and portrays the swimming pool of the Queen's Hotel Margate.
