PUB LIST PUBLIC HOUSES Barry Smith and Paul Skelton

Earliest 1750-

Fishing Boat

Latest 1750+

Near the Docks

This one has been identified in 1750, and I am pretty sure it is not to be confused with the other "Fishing Boat" identified as being at Fishmonger's Lane as that one was said to be newly built in the South Eastern Gazette of 1852, as existing as early as 1848.

From the Kentish Post or Canterbury News-Letter, August 30th 1750. Kindly sent from Alec Hasenson.

Sale by auction of a Folkestone Cutter at the Sign of the Fishing Boat, near the Old Dock in Dover, August 30th, 1750.
