PUB LIST PUBLIC HOUSES Paul Skelton

Earliest ????

Shoemaker's Arms

Latest ????

192-194 The Street

Boughton Under Blean

Former Shoemaker's Arms 2016

Above Google image showing 192, the house on the right and 194 the house on the left, taken in August 2016. Looking at the building, and the possible beer hatch at 192, I would guess that perhaps the entire building used to be the public house.

I have only just found reference to this pub, but to date not a lot is known about it, apart from the building is generally now known as the Manse and Manse Cottage which is addressed as 192 and 194 The Street.

The building is 16th century and was refronted in the early 19th century. It gained a Grade 2 listing on 21st May 1986.

It is said it was at one time during its history called the "Shoemaker's Arms," but when in its history is as yet unknown. mention is made of the "Faversham Papers No 22" but I haven't seen these papers as yet, so no further information is known.
