Unfortunately closed, some time before 2010 and was in 2015 operating as an Indian restaurant called Spice Master.

Latest news is that ceased trading in 2017 and the premises has since been boarded up and is subject to planning permission for demolition for new housing.

The Westbere Butts, has recently (2022) been demolished and the site is now being developed into a small housing estate.

As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here. Local knowledge required.

Thanks for your co-operation.

WESTBERE. FATAL FALL FROM A LOFT.

The East Kent Coroner (Mr. K. M. Mercer) held an inquiry at the "Westbere Butts Inn" on Friday respecting the death of an agricultural labourer named Henry Divers, an old man seventy-six years of age.

From the evidence that was adduced it appeared that the deceased was in a loft at work shifting straw at Tile Lodge Farm, when he stepped back and fell down the opening in the floor through which there was a step ladder on to the brick foundation of the wall below - a distance of about fifteen feet. He was taken home unconscious and died on Thursday. Dr. Greasley attended the deceased, who succumbed to Hemorrhage of the brain and compression.

A verdict of Accidental Death, was returned by the jury.
