The following information has only been seen to date in the Universal British Directory of Trade 1793, unfortunately the only information it contained was the name of the licensee and pub but no address. I have found no other reference to the pub so far.

From the Maidstone Journal, 15 May 1787.

Extract of letter from Chatham, May 14.

This day was married at our church, by the rev. Mr. Jones, Mr. Thomas French, shipwright widower, to Mrs. Oakley, widow, mistress at the "Three Tuns" public house here.

From the Maidstone Journal, 8 September 1789.

On Friday last, Mr. Samuel Nesbitt, master of the "Three Tons" public house, Chatham, many years Drum Major of the West Kent Regiment of Militia, and supposed to be one of the first of that profession, on his way to Knowles near Sevenoaks, in the Maidstone Caravan, was seized with a pain in his stomach, and alighted at the "Royal Oak," Wrotham Heath, where he called for something to drink; but before anything could be given him, he was seized with an epileptic fit, and immediately expired.

His remains, were, on Sunday removed to the "Castle Inn," in this town, and last night interred at Maidstone Church.

From the Maidstone Journal, 26 January 1790.

Died.

Died lately, Mrs. Nesbit, Mistress of the "Three Tons" public house, High Street, Chatham.
