The only reference I have found so far for this pub is in the Pigot's Directory of 1828. Further research has found the passage below.

 

Maidstone Telegraph 07 November 1868.

DEATH.

On the 27th ult., at Linton, Sarah Sophia, relict of the late Mr. William May, formally of the "Star Inn," Linton, aged 85.

N.B. On the 1851 census Sarah S. May was aged 67, a widow, in Almshouses, Linton, & shown as a Pauper (Innkeeper.)

 

It appears from Google maps that the pub was still there in 2009, but by 2012 it had been demolished and new houses built on the site.
