Plans for a new build was submitted in January 1939 for a building on the same area. It was planned to remodel the building on the corner of Brook Street and Bexley Road providing an open grass area in front of the pub. The exterior to have been extended along both roads with a frontage at 45 degrees onto the road junction.

The plans submitted bt the brewery Trumans being topped off with an eagle, and to the rear a quadrant shaped patio and garden. Then unfortunately the war came along and these plans were never revived afterwards.
