PUB LIST PUBLIC HOUSES Paul Skelton

Earliest 1849-

Crown Inn

Latest 1849

Sittingbourne

I just came across a mention of a pub called the "Crown Inn" supposedly in Sittingbourne, but have nothing else to reference the above at all.

There is also a "Crown Inn" at Milton Regis, but with no address for this one at present, the two could well be the same.

Time will tell whether this pub actually comes to light.

Kentish Gazette, 4 September 1849.

SITTINGBOURN.

Notwithstanding the shock occasioned by the closing of the two fine hotels, the "Rose" and the "Crown," we are happy to say that the town is rapidly improving. The "Rose" has been turned into fine shops with plate-glass fronts, and the "Crown" is now undergoing the same change.
