DIAMOND WEDDING.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Russ, of Bifrons Lodge, Patrixbourne, who to-day (Friday) celebrate their Diamond Wedding. It was on December 8th, 1872, that Mr. Russ, then 22 years of age, was married to Miss Mary Jane Baldock at Chartham Church. Mrs. Russ, who is a daughter of a former licensee of the “Royal Oak,” Chartham Hatch, is now 79, and both she and her husband enjoy the best of health. Soon after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Russ went to Bekesbourne, where Mr. Russ was employed on the railway until his retirement in 1921, after 51 years’ service. Of their three children, one son and one daughter are still living, and there are four grand-children and one great-grandchild, of whom Mr. and Mrs. Russ are very proud.
