I have found reference for this pub in the Pigot's Directory of 1828. It was listed under Taverns and Public Houses, although in that publication it was said to be in Sutton-at-Hone, but I believe it to be in South Darenth.

Dating back to pre 1828, the pub name probably derives from the flour-mill that was located on the River Darent by Mally's Place Bridge in those days. Horton Kirby Paper Mill was also built on the site of a flour-mill.

This was a tied "Fleet Brewery" pub in 1865 when the brewery was put up for auction.

Project 2014 has been started to try and identify all the pubs that are and have ever been open in Kent. I have just added this pub to that list but your help is definitely needed regarding it's history.

As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here.

Thanks for your co-operation.
