The pub has been trading since the 1700s and has been owned by various breweries over the years.

Sevenoaks. Horse Accident.

On Thursday morning Mr. Robert Dairyman, residing at Riverhead, was riding on horseback past the "Halfway" public house, Tub's Hill, When the horse slipped, was unable to recover his footing, and fell on his knees, which were much cut. His master was thrown violently over the horse's head into the road, but fortunately escaped with a severe shaking.
