Licensing Business.

At the Bromley Petty Sessions, on Monday, the following licensing matters were disposed of.

The licence of "Edward IV," Beckenham, was transferred to the widow of the late proprietor.

Mr. L. W. Gregory applied for a protection order for Mr. Victor Henry Hazelton in respect to the "Crown" at  Plaistow. He explained that the landlady who held the house previously, died intestate, on February 25th, and he had been instructed by Mr. Price the brother to take out letters of administration. The protection order was applied for on behalf of Hazleton so that he might carry on the business whilst the letters of administration were being obtained.

After some discussion, the Chairman said it was a rather an outside thing. They would, however, grant a protection order, but if the letters of administration were not attained before transfer day the licence would lapse.

Crown Pub Bromley ready to open after huge investment.

A pub in Bromley is ready to open its doors after a huge investment was made to the property.

The Crown Pub, which is located in Plaistow Lane, will open after a £670,000 investment was made by pub operators Punch Pubs and Co.

The pub which has been transformed from a former Indian restaurant will open on March 31.

Operations manager for Punch Pubs and Co Nick Bone said: “We’re really excited to open the doors and unveil The Crowns' brand-new look.

“This pub shares a lot of history in the area, and we know it means a great deal to the community.

“It’s been a great project restoring a former pub back to its origins and bring back a fabulous community asset.

“It’s fantastic to be working with Nik, Mike, and his team again, and they cannot wait to start welcoming guests new and old.”

The Crown is located nearby the Chelsfield pub on Windsor Drive which is also operated by Punch Pubs and Co.

The pub company has around 1,300 pubs across the UK where they have invested £90 million into the pub estate.
