Coach Makers Arms

Above photo, date unknown.

Prior to 1874 the building was known as the "Birmingham Arms" and was listed as being at 200 High Street before the renumbering.

I am informed that the building has been demolished, date unknown and in its place there is yet another Tesco.

Judy Miller kindly informs me that the "Coachmakers Arms" was certainly demolished to make way for a big Tesco store. The whole area between The Brook and Upbury Way (Cage Lane) was demolished just after 1969.

200 High Street 2017

The Closed Pubs website incorrectly identifies 200 High Street as the above amusement arcade, but I am not sure whether this is the correct location for the former pub. It is certainly not a Tescos store. I believe the street has been renumbered and 200 was the old address.

Local knowledge definitely required here.

This pub is one in the list of my "Project 2014."

I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from.

All emails are answered.
