Brewer's Arms 1906

The "Brewer's Arms" is at the end of the street, also showing the "Stag's Head" left.

 

The premises was operating under a Beer License in 1872 and was owned by Edward Winch of Chatham.

 

This pub is one in the list of my "Project 2014."

As such I haven't found a picture of the pub, and have no other information. Local knowledge, further pictures, and licensee information would be appreciated.

I will be adding the historical information when I find or are sent it, but this project is a very big one, and I do not know when or where the information will come from.

Public house and beer house information.

The following publicans and beer sellers, at Chatham, were charged, at the instances of Superintendent Everist, with keeping their houses open for the sale of beer after the legal hour of 11 o'clock at night.

George Whale, of the "Brewer's Arms," and George Parnell, of the "Fortune of War," each 40s. and 12s. costs.

Thursday:- Before F. E. Guise, Esq., Stipendiary Magistrates.

A Licensed Victualler Fined.

Isaac Buckland, landlord of the "Brewers Arms," at Ordnance Place, Chatham, was someone for having his house open for the sale of fermented liquors on Sunday, April 25th, during the prohibited hours.

The defendant pleaded guilty and the police stated that there had not been any previous complaints against him.

The Magistrates under the circumstances mitigated the penalty of 10s. with costs 8s. or in default of payment 10 days' imprisonment.
