Tea Garden Lane Rusthall 01892 524252
The house dates from 1895 and was built as the country home of Sir Walter Harris, a former Lieutenant of the City of London. It has a wealth of architectural features including some particularly fine stained glass windows in the restaurant and oak-panelling in the bar area. Previously the restaurant was finalist in the Publican Pub Food Awards, and were awarded a Certificate of Excellence in the category of Alfresco Dining Pub of the Year and the hotel rooms a AA 4 Star rating and a Silver Award from England Accommodation for high quality and customer service. They were also short-listed for Alfresco Dining Pub of the Year.
Project 2014 has been started to try and identify all the pubs that are and have ever been open in Kent. I have just added this pub to that list but your help is definitely needed regarding it's history. As the information is found or sent to me, including photographs, it will be shown here. Thanks for your co-operation.
