This was another of the pubs up for discussion regarding the compensation act in 1908, so may have closed soon after.

I am informed that the pub has been demolished, date unknown and is of now (2018) a car park. Steve Mortimore tells me that this was another victim of WW2 but the pub sign post still stood in its spot for years and was still there until the late 70s. Just the post. No sign. Both have now disappeared.

Orr's Kentish Journal, 22 February 1862.

Elizabeth Taylor, 29, East-street, Greenwich, was brought up and sentenced to ten days' hard labour for being drunk and wilfully breaking a pane of glass, value 2s. 6d., at the "Victory" public-house, Greenwich.
