Smashing.
Martin Tway and John Kirk, committed for trial on charges by Police
Serjeant Newell, of uttering counterfeit coins at the "Rose and
Crown," "King's Arms," "Queen’s Arms," and other taverns in
Woolwich, have been sentenced, the former to four, and the latter to
six years penal servitude.

FALSE WEIGHTS AND MEASURES.
The following persons were fined, with costs, upon informations by
Messrs. John and John W. Farmer, inspectors of weights and measures,
Straight’s-mouth. Greenwich:—
Robert Beaver, "Queen’s Arms," Woolwich, 1 measures, fined 10s.

Kentish Independent. 9 September 1865.
On Friday evening last, the offices of the North London district
accompanied by a great number of their brethren visited the Woolwich
District, at Beaver's, "Queens Arms," Artillery Place, about 200 being
present for usual loyal toast were given and some excellent speeches
were made in reference to the workings of the society. London friends
left by the last train highly gratified at the reception, and the
proceedings of the evening.
