The pub was big-enough to be converted into six cottages after its closure in the 1970s. Michael Mirams says:- "an old couple ran it in the late 60's, and their pork pies were delicious."

The buildings gained a Grade 2 listing on 10th October 1980, and was described as follows:- C18, restored. Two storeys red brick. Hipped tiled roof. Seven casement windows. Five cambered headed doorcases. End bay is mid C19. Ground floor red brick, first floor Kentish ragstone.

Donations were previously received to the amount totalling £29,060 0s. 4d.
